Returning as TPI Annual Conference’s Moderator, Alan brings valuable insights and perspective based on his real-life experience as a leaseholder and lessee, making him a trusted voice helping shape the future of residential management. Through his experiences as an RMC Director, former member of ARMA’s Independent Regulatory Panel, and as a TPI trainer, Alan has a clear understanding of professional standards and governance. His commitment to enhancing the way the sector engages with communities helps drive meaningful improvements that have a lasting and positive impact.

Passionate about raising standards across the property management sector, Andrew has been instrumental in shaping the industry's future. A Fellow of both RICS and The Property Institute, he began his career in PRS and leasehold management before serving as UK Residential Director at RICS. As former CEO of IRPM, Andrew led the organisation through its merger with ARMA and became CEO of The Property Institute. He now focuses on ethical leadership and sector-wide impact, while continuing to elevate the role of property professionals nationwide.

With extensive frontline leasehold experience and strategic industry insight, Annie leads the Leasehold team at PMR. A Chartered Surveyor, Fellow of TPI, and qualified Accountant, she spent 12 years in leasehold before moving into recruitment, bringing a deep understanding of the sector’s needs. A former block management business owner, she knows the challenges of hiring, training, and retaining talent. Highly Commended at the 2024 TPI Honorary Industry Award, Annie mentors MRICS candidates, supports TPI initiatives, and delivers sector-specific training, making her a recognised leader in leasehold recruitment and development.

With a strong background as a chartered surveyor, Bruce has led development, housing, and regeneration programmes, including the management of several major grant funding initiatives. His expertise spans complex projects that support safer, more sustainable housing, as well as large-scale schemes designed to deliver meaningful impact in local communities. Since 2020, he has played a central role in tackling the cladding crisis in England. He first oversaw the grant fund established to repair high-rise buildings with unsafe ACM cladding and more recently has taken the operational lead on the Cladding Safety Scheme, which addresses safety issues in residential blocks over 11 metres.

Recognised for her legal expertise in property management, Cassandra is regularly called upon to advise and represent clients across the country. A Fellow of The Property Institute (TPI) and an Associate of RICS, she actively contributes to TPI’s Leasehold and Commonhold Expert Group and serves as an honorary consultant to FPRA. Cassandra is also the lead author of Legally Speaking—a free online resource for property management professionals. She is known for her work on Tribunal matters and her passion for sharing knowledge within the sector remains central to her work.

Focused on helping organisations and senior leaders navigate innovative thinking and digital transformation. Dan is both founder of Alpha Property Insights and co-founder of Digital Property Risks, supporting professionals navigate the increasing digital risks buildings face. Dan sits on a wide range of industry and government advisory groups, contributing expertise to policy discussions and initiatives focused on the future of property and technology. Bringing a strong focus on digital transformation and innovation, to help the property sector embrace new ways of working while staying aware of emerging challenges.

As a leading specialist in health, safety and compliance with decades of experience in building control and risk management, David is at the forefront of legislative changes and their impact affecting the sector. He is a recognised compliance expert, known and respected in the property sector. David sits on a number of boards and delivers training for key industry bodies including The Property Institute and the British Property Federation. His expertise continues to influence best practice across the sector.

With a lifelong commitment to recruitment, HR, and operations, David brings a deep level of expertise to the Abbatt Group. Over the past 11 years, he has focused on the residential property sector and has helped position the business as a leading provider of recruitment and HR services. David has played a key role in reshaping employment models across the industry, championing staff development, engagement, and long-term growth. His strategic leadership contributed to Abbatt’s recognition at the 2025 Awards for its innovative operational and workforce strategies.

A serving Member of the House of Lords, Dianne is a prominent consumer activist with a long-standing career in politics and the voluntary sector. She has served on numerous councils and panels, to include Legal Services Consumer Panel, the Financial Services Consumer Panel, the National Consumer Council, Alcohol Concern and the National Patient Safety Agency, where she has challenged the paradigm and lead positive change. Dianne’s commitment to TPI, its members and the residential property management sector makes her a strong and propelling Chair focused to driving up professionalism and raising standards.

Leading the insurance and risk management proposition for Block Managers at Thomas Carroll Insurance Brokers, Emma brings nearly 20 years of experience in the residential property industry. Her background spans a decade specialising in Professional Indemnity and risk management for surveyors, several years in residential property insurance and, leadership roles in property data and software businesses. Passionate about fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, she founded and formerly chaired the award-winning Women in Residential Property network. Additionally, she serves as co-Chair of the British Property Federation Cyber Working Group, driving industry-wide initiatives and connections.

With two decades in health and safety and over 15 years specialising in fire safety, Faz combines extensive technical expertise with practical experience across a wide range of environments. Holding an MSc in Fire Safety Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Faz provides strategic direction on fire safety across multiple sectors including compliance and best practice. He has contributed to the development of sector-specific fire safety policies across education and care and is recognised for translating complex challenges into clear, practical solutions. Dedicated to raising standards, he supports property professionals in meeting regulatory requirements, improving documentation, and embedding a culture of safety.

Having played a key role in transforming compliance processes and supporting professionalisation across the sector, Glenys brings insight and impact to everything she does. With over 30 years’ experience spanning residential and commercial property, she’s worked in both large and small firms, including as Associate Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, and later moved into regulation with RICS. Since 2022, Glenys has driven the development of compliance standards to support property managers at TPI.

As TPI’s strategic lead for Policy and Communications, Jaclyn is a driving force in the residential property sector, bringing over 20 years’ senior expertise in corporate communications, media relations and public affairs. Since 2019, she has led campaigns that shape policy, raise TPI’s profile and promote best practice. Jaclyn is a trusted industry voice, forging strong stakeholder relationships, speaking on net zero, building safety and leasehold reform, and turning complex regulations into clear, practical guidance that helps members protect their businesses and stay compliant.

Leading a nationwide team, James oversees the delivery of specialist risk assessments across Fire Safety, Health & Safety, Asbestos, and Legionella. With a hands-on background in fire risk assessment, he brings extensive practical experience in identifying and resolving safety issues. A Member of the IFSM and IFE, he is known for translating complex safety regulations into clear, practical guidance. He works closely with property professionals to manage critical risks, particularly around fire compartmentation, while supporting compliance and promoting high safety standards.

With a background in engineering, construction, and public policy, John brings a broad and practical perspective to building safety and sustainability. His early career in the Royal Navy involved roles in IT, logistics, and procurement, including overseas deployments. He later moved into the construction sector, focusing on energy efficiency and project management across refurbishments and new builds. A role at the Passivhaus Trust inspired him to design and build his own Passivhaus home. John went on to influence national policy, working on building regulations and the Higher Risk Buildings regime. He also volunteers as a Town Councillor and community advocate.

Appointed King’s Counsel in 2024, Justin is a specialist property, housing and leasehold barrister who regularly appears in the Upper Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Justin acted for some of the victims, survivors and their families at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. He was part of the Law Commission team working on the leasehold reform projects. He has given evidence to Parliament about building safety and leasehold issues and his work is a vital component to the future of property law.

A leading expert in defending professional negligence claims, Kat specialises in matters within the construction and property sectors, with significant experience in complex, multi-party disputes. She is recognised for her strength in contentious construction and professional indemnity work, acting for global property companies and their insurers on claims involving surveyors, contractors, architects, and engineers. Kat also provides tailored advice to insurers and industry bodies such as RICS and delivers market training on claims and coverage. Her people-focused, responsive approach ensures consistently high standards of service across all matters.

Driving professional growth and future-ready skills across the sector, Lawrence ensures TPI members stay compliant, confident and equipped through practical, timely learning. He leads the development of dynamic training that evolves with industry needs, including tailored webinars that address complex and current challenges facing the industry. By overseeing and delivering a robust programme of professional development, Lawrence keeps TPI Training relevant and impactful – empowering TPI members to stay informed, skilled and one step ahead.

A visionary leader for driving insight and innovation across the built environment. Malcolm brings three decades of diverse sector experience to empower and support TPI members. With deepened expertise in residential property at RICS before joining IRPM. Malcolm now focuses on strengthening TPI’s member offering. He continues to shape relevant, strategic, and forward-thinking solutions that meet the evolving needs of the residential property management profession.

Specialising in all aspects of commonhold, and landlord and tenant laws, Mari particularly enjoys working on complex commonhold and leasehold residential conveyancing transactions, making the most of her landlord and tenant dispute experience. With a keen interest in the ongoing reform agenda, she regularly contributes to journals on the topic. Mari also provides in-house training for agents on a broad range of subjects, including, most recently, net zero in leasehold blocks and commonhold management.

Appointed in November 2023, the Chair of the government-funded Leasehold Advisory Service is Martin Boyd. Tasked by Secretary of State Michael Gove, Martin is leading a radical transformation of the organisation to better support leaseholders and to "robustly" engage with the government on legislative improvements. Since the election Minister Pennycook has tasked LEASE this year with improving their core service and helping coordinate redress across the leasehold sector.

Coming into the property management industry in 1982, Neil was instrumental in driving his firm to become Scotland’s largest property factoring practice, where he rose to CEO and presently Chairman. A committed leader within the industry, Neil served twice as President of the Property Managers Association Scotland, guiding its strategic direction during pivotal moments. Neil has advised on the Government’s Housing Improvement Task Force, helping shape landmark legislation on tenement law and in recent times has advised Scottish Government and the Scottish Law Commission on housing management issues.

A leading academic and legal expert, Nick served as Law Commissioner for England and Wales, helping to shape the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024. He also contributed to the Commonhold Council’s Technical Support Group and co-authored Megarry & Wade and The Law of Real Property (10th ed, 2024). Nick is an honorary bencher of Middle Temple and a respected voice across property law, with an impact that continues to influence the sector’s future.

Passionate about developing emerging talent, Oneeka is shaping the future of the property profession. Having progressed originally from lettings her career is now firmly set in block management, where she is known for operational excellence and strong portfolio oversight. Oneeka is a member of TPI’s Junior Committee and brings a dedication for leadership, compliance and service, while continuing to support the next generation. Her commitment to growth and mentoring drives positive changes across the industry.

Driving cultural change around wellbeing and leadership in property. Shelley blends industry experience, having spent most of her career in block management, with behavioural expertise to support healthier, high-performing teams. Shelley uses her insights as a qualified Business Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Coach to deliver impactful training for The Property Institute (TPI). She plays a leading role in shaping best practice through TPI Wellbeing Working Group where she actively promotes awareness, inclusion and meaningful sector support.

Driving professional development through qualifications that evolve with the sector, Simon ensures training remains relevant, rigorous and ready for tomorrow’s demands. He leads the development and delivery of TPI’s qualifications and CPD programmes, with a strong focus on compliance assessment and internal quality assurance. Simon’s work ensures that members across all levels have access to clear, high-quality learning — helping them stay skilled, compliant and confident in a rapidly changing property landscape.

Responsible for innovation in the built environment, Tom brings a unique mix of tech leadership and sector insight to the conversation around AI, to drive future-focused solutions and smarter services. In 2023, he sold his Google-backed platform, askporter, to Germany’s largest facilities management company, marking a significant milestone in AI-driven property solutions. Tom continues to lead on digital transformation, data and AI awareness, with a strong focus on scalable impact and ethical innovation.

Strengthening standards through compliance, Waqas brings a wealth of regulatory and financial expertise to his role at TPI. A chartered accountant who began his career at KPMG, he’s worked across public sector audit, environmental regulation, and client money compliance — including a regulatory role at RICS from 2014. Since joining TPI in 2022, Waqas has supported members in meeting complex standards with clarity and assurance, ensuring integrity and accountability remain at the heart of the profession.
