Proud to support Scotland’s property professionals with policy, training, and industry leadership.

History

PMAS has been part of Scotland’s residential property landscape since 1867, originally founded as the Association of House Factors and Property Agents to represent professionals managing homes for landlords in rapidly growing industrial cities.

In 1917, it became The Property Owners and Factors Association Glasgow Limited, later joining with local associations in Greenock, Paisley, and Dundee. This led to the formation of the Property Managers Association Scotland Limited (PMAS) in 1991, a single professional body focused on raising standards.

In May 2025, PMAS merged with The Property Institute to become TPI Scotland, opening a new chapter that builds on over 150 years of heritage and strengthens its voice and support for property professionals across Scotland.
