Fire safety management is not just an issue for high-rise or higher-risk buildings. Every residential property manager needs to understand how the fire safety measures within their buildings work, how they interact, and what happens when one of those measures fails.
With around 78% of fire-related fatalities occurring in dwelling fires, effective management and oversight of residential fire safety remains critical. This practical webinar explores active fire safety systems from a property manager’s perspective, not an engineer’s.
We will consider fire alarms and detection, smoke control, emergency lighting, suppression and firefighting systems, and how these interact with passive measures such as compartmentation and fire doors. Using the principles of systems thinking, layers of protection and effective risk management, the session will explain why servicing certificates alone are not enough and what property managers should be doing to understand, oversee and evidence the continuing effectiveness of their buildings’ fire safety arrangements.
