This course aims to provide a practical foundation without overwhelming participants with technical qualifications or specialist training.

Participants will gain foundational knowledge in:
- An overview of Health & Safety law and legal responsibilities
- The requirement for and structure of risk assessments
- Types of risk assessments relevant to residential property
- Identification of common hazards in residential buildings, including:
- Fire safety
- Asbestos
- Legionella
- Working at height
- Electrical risks
- Hazardous substances - Systems for managing health and safety risks
- Selection and oversight of contractors
- Understanding enforcement and legal consequences
Please Note: While this course will not qualify participants as fire risk assessors, CDM coordinators, or compliance specialists, it will equip them with the awareness and understanding necessary to carry out their day-to-day responsibilities safely and confidently—and give assurance to employers that basic legal obligations are being met.

- New property managers or support staff with little or no prior health and safety training
- On-site staff responsible for the day-to-day management of residential blocks
