Synopsis

The requirements of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 [the workplace regulations] that relate to provision of welfare within a workplace apply to the common parts of a block of flats.

The workplace regulations impose a duty on every employer to ensure that every workplace which is under their control and where any of their employees works complies with any requirement of the regulations.
