Synopsis

This guidance note gives advice to members who are approached by leaseholders to be appointed as managers by Order of a First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber ) (FTT).

S.21 of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1987 (LTA 1987) allows any leaseholder or group of leaseholders to ask the FTT for an Order appointing a new Manager for a block of leasehold flats, including mixed-usebuildings, but this power does not extend to estates of leasehold houses.
