This Guidance Note explains how landlords and managing agents can encourage the formation of, and cooperate with, properly constituted and democratically run Residents' Associations.

This guidance provides information for Managing Agents on the Electronic Communications Code and the management of risk where mobile base stations are located on residential premises. Although most mobile base station installations are designed to be ‘safe by design’, in some cases there will be exclusion zones that need to be managed. In all cases employers need to assess the risk of exposure to electromagnetic radiation associated with the equipment and keep a record of the assessment.

The Working Time Regulations 1998 as amended (WTR) were introduced to implement the EC Working Time Directive (93/104) (‘the Directive’). WTR apply to workers under a contract of employment or any other contract, whether express or implied, to provide services personally, and set down the minimum conditions with regard to weekly working time, rest entitlements and annual leave. These regulations remain in force despite the removal of the UK from the EEU.
